Where we came from
Season 1 opened on 27 March 2022: two divisions, thirteen teams, a full schedule and a playoff bracket. Nine seasons have finished since, and every match, standing and champion is recorded here.
This game had a real competitive scene years before KTP did. The Proving Grounds ran its first season in September 2002, the first of thirty-two. CAL ran nineteen and got cancelled twice, the second time for good, partway through Season 21. CPL put it on a stage three years running. TPG's last season closed out in November 2013. Three more got opened and never finished, the league went chasing other games, and by 2014 the whole thing was gone.
The game died a slow death. Our esteemed Corey Marko had to travel overseas to play in underground black markets to get his fix. A few of us started drafting teams again in 2019. Then the world stopped in April of 2020 — a bunch of nerds with nothing to do decided to boot up a dead game. 12mans, 12mans, 12mans and drafts. Talks of a league started. The same players kept 12manning, drafting teams against each other — once a year at first, then every few months, then every few weeks. The last draft before Season 1 ran eight days before it opened. We still run them between seasons.

CAL and TPG both ran Source seasons alongside it. The 1.3 seasons outlasted them.
- 2002 – 2013The Proving Grounds
Thirty-two completed seasons of Day of Defeat 1.3, from September 2002 to November 2013, across Lower, Intermediate, Middle and Upper. Three more were opened and never finished. Eleven years of people caring far too much about which bracket they were in.
- Until 2009Cyberathlete Amateur League
Nineteen completed seasons of Day of Defeat 1.3 across Open, Intermediate, Main and Invite. Cancelled mid-season twice, the second time during Season 21, for good. CAL itself stopped operating in 2009, a year after the professional league it grew out of. Getting cancelled twice and still outliving the league that spawned it is its own kind of achievement.

Playoffs split four ways and awarded four titles: Gold A took the top three, Silver B the bottom two, and everyone else ran in one cross-division event whose two halves — Gold B and Silver A — each decided its own champion. A final between those two winners was scheduled and never played. Not repeated since.

Six clans that won divisions in the old leagues are still turning up.
THUNDER won TPG seasons 17, 25 and 26. G.SKILL and 3xtreme Humiliation each won TPG twice, and both won a KTP division. NoGo Gaming Faction took CAL Main in season 19 and has been rebranding itself every season since. jetty won CAL Main and a CEVO tournament. dicE placed third at CPL in the summer of 2006.
RenameD*Gaming won a TPG division in 2012. They're on this season's roster.
LANs used to be a fixture; Kentucky in 2007 was the last one before the game started dying. The next was 2025 — eighteen years later, in a basement in Philadelphia. We just went back this year.
